Findings on Elasticity

As a contribution to the book Findings on Elasticity this drawing was created in collaboration with professor Gijs Wuite, molecular bio-physicist at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The book, published by the Pars Foundation, is the second volume in the Creative Atlas series, featuring the work of artists and scientists whose binding interest is elasticity. Other authors included are Pipilotti Rist, Didier Fiuza-Faustino, Lars Spuybroek, Eric Maskin, Robert Dijkgraaf, Ernesto Neto, Sean Carroll and more.

Dual DNA manipulation

Accompanying the publication of the Nature article Unraveling the H-NS-mediated organization of bacterial chromatin using a dual DNA manipulation assay this drawing was created in collaboration with professor Gijs Wuite and his molecular biophysics group at the faculty of sciences / division of physics and astronomy, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The image was used in the science section of the NRC Handelsblad and on the FOM annual reports of 2008 among others.
